The citizen science project „Obtectus Finders“ is present in Serbia and is implemented in partnership among civil society organisations, educational institutions, and the Institute for Biological Research „Sinisa Stankovic“ from Belgrade. Environmental Ambassadors for Sustainable Development, as the National Operator of the Eco-Schools program in Serbia, and the Eco-Schools network have been engaged over the last three years in collecting and submitting seed beetles (Acanthoscelides obtectus). This citizen engagement directly contributes to population-genetic studies of seed beetles. It is necessary to follow the researchers’ instructions on how to find and catch seed beetles. The most interested in participating are pre-school children in their pre-Eco-Schools.
