At the events “Climate Package – 3rd International Conference of Teachers (engaging sessions for educators to explore best practices and innovative teaching methods in climate education), 2nd International Student Festival ( a vibrant space for students to present their climate projects, participate in activities, and celebrate their contributions to climate action) and 1st International “Climate School” (an immersive educational program designed to inspire young participants with hands-on activities, interactive learning, and opportunities to deepen their understanding of climate challenges and solutions), which are held in Almaty, Kazakhstan, from October 28 to 31, 2024 , the Eco-Schools of Serbia also participate. This international event, attended by teachers and students from 9 countries (Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russian Federation, Serbia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan), was organized by the UNDP Kazakhstan and UNDP Regional Bureau for Eastern Europe and Central Asia , within the “Climate Package” program , creating a platform for sharing knowledge, sharing experiences and strengthening education about climate change. In Serbia, the program is coordinated by UNDP Serbia ( http://klimatskipaket.klimatskepromene.rs/ ).
Selected representatives from Serbia had the opportunity to present (innovative) solutions on the topic of climate change at the National Competition for Environmental Protection Projects, focused on solving the problem of Climate Change:

– Use your imagination, plant a perma garden, Author: Dunja Milenković, VIII-5 Primary School “Toplički heroji ” Žitorađa; Mentor: Valentina Aščetović
The presentations of these works by the students Dunja, Natalija and Aleksej were very successful, as well as the participation in the conference of the director of the school “Stefan Nemanja” from Niš, Aleksandra Projović and the teachers Valentina Aščetović (Primary School “Toplički heroji” Žitorađe) and Vladimir-Vuk Petrović (International School “Crnjanski” Jagodina).
Milan Cerovac, representative of UNDP Serbia, contributed success of the participants from Serbia presenting themselves in the best possible way and exchanging experiences with participants from other countries.
The students from Serbia received special awards:
– Natalija for creativity in solving problems,
– Dunja for the sustainability of the solution given by the project and
– Aleksej for the innovation of the solution and for the best photo for the duration of the event.
The Climate Package project, supported by UNDP, is implemented in Serbia by a consortium led by the professional association Environmental Ambassadors for Sustainable Development , which is also the national operator of the international Eco-school program in Serbia, together with partners, the citizens’ association “Zlatiborski krug” and “Mikser”.
At the events in Kazakhstan, Aleksandra Mladenović, national coordinator for the Eco-schools program in Serbia and coordinator of the “Climate Package” project, and prof. Dr. Anđelka Mihajlov, national mentor of the Eco-schools program and team leader of the project implementation team for Serbia, also participated.
