The ISO 14000 family addresses various aspects of environmental management. ISO 14000 family provides practical tools for companies and organizations looking to identify and control their environmental impact and constantly improve their environmental performance. The main goal of ISO 14000 family is to provide a practical toolbox to assist in the implementation of actions supportive to sustainable development. The series is divided into two separate areas:
-the organization evaluation standards deals with Environmental Management System (EMS), Environmental Auditing (EA) and Environmental Performance Evaluation (EPE)
-the product evaluation standards deals with Environmental Aspects in Product Standards (EAPS), Environmental Labeling (EL) and Life-Cycle Assessment (LCA)
