List of the some activities, within the mandate of European Climate Pact Ambassador (ECPA):

June 2021: EASD and European Climate Pact Ambassador participate at ACUNS Annual Meeting. At the Panel Climate Change and International Institutions, she presented “UNEP at 50 should have a Guiding Role in What “Green” Really Means” , and also serve as the Discussant at the Panel Understanding Climate Challenges and Searching for Solutions.

August 2021:  As ECPA participated at the 6th International Conference on Communication and Management (ICCM2021), hosted and organized by Communication Institute of Greece. By this presentation Prof Mihajlov, as paper presenter, informed and inspired climate actions in contribution to the European Climate Pact , empowering citizens to shape a greener Europe…..participants of this Conference was great ‘communication network” for this.   Environmental Communication: Media Archive Reports as a Participant Science Tool

From September 2021as ESPA promoted, among others through National Eco-Schools network , Climate landscape analysis and its impacts on children in Serbia. To note, prof Mihajlov is expert consultant in developing this UNICEF document. Also, she promoted Climate responsible eating giving lectures to teachers/professors, resulting to successful activities in Eco-Schools in Serbia.

From October 2021 – as ESPA promoted “CLIMATE BOX” – Serbian Edition  (available in English and Russian language ), among others through National Eco-Schools network : CLIMATE BOX is available in Serbian language!  The main objectives are to promote education and awareness on climate change impacts and drivers among youth and general public, and to enhance the ability of Serbia to participate actively in addressing the global environmental threat of climate change. To note, Prof Mihajlov is Team Leader in developing this Edition.

October 8, 2021 – Prof dr Andjelka Mihajlov as European Climate Pact Ambassador launched satellite-like activity as serious of “Seminars for Climate and Environment Ambassadors”. Launched event was National Eco-Schools coordinators meeting, held in Vladimirovci. The first seminar acknowledged as Climate Pact Satellite Event and invitation for participation posted.

November 9, 2021Prof dr Andjelka Mihajlov as European Climate Pact Ambassador presented to Green Chair Network  :  Chapter 27 (Environment and Climate Change) and Cluster 4 in Serbian accession to EU.  (The main idea behind its establishment of Green Chair Mechanism was to ensure permanent participation of civil society representatives at the sessions of the Environmental Protection Committee (Committee) of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia (National Assembly)).

November 25,  2021 – Conduct webinar  with green knowledge and skills as thematic focus, with agenda focus on “vocabulary” and terms understanding related EU Climate Pact and Green Deal/Fit for 55, presented by Prof Mihajlov (presentation in Serbian available).  Case activities and lectures on theme were presented by other professors, having as the base Climate Box . More than 90 teachers, educators and other interested participated. Accepted as the Satellite Event of European Climate Pact.

December 2, 2021 – Prof Mihajlov presented “EU Climate Pact for Serbia: Snapshot targeted rehearsal of country’s obligations in climate action, based on signed and ratified international multilateral agreements” at Legal and Social Responses to Climate Change – a new strategic framework in Serbia, organized by  Institute of Social Sciences, Belgrade (presentation in Serbian available) …. Climate Pact for Serbia: Snapshot targeted rehearsal of country’s obligations in climate action….

February 2022. – As European Climate Pact Ambassador Prof Mihajlov participated in Terrifica Project promotional / awareness raising spot related the importance of education of climate change, as well as importance of citizens science when dealing with climate change issues. Prof Mihajlov is also Advisory Board Member of Terrifica Project  (TeRRIFICA – Territorial Responsible Research and Innovation Fostering Innovative Climate Action project has received funding from the European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme under grant agreement ).

April 28, 2022 – Participating as the key speaker at Local Round Table in Perlez, municipality Zrenjanin, presenting issues of capturing synergies between plastic pollution (and toxic additives in plastics pellets) with decarbonization and climate change. About 10 people from this small town participated. In media.

May 7, 2022, North Macedonia – Prof A.Mihajlov, as European Climate Pact Ambassador presented, by invitation, had presentation European Climate Pact Ambassador in Mission: Climate, SDGs and Circular Economy at International Conference: ”Effects of natural disasters, anthropogenic impacts and climate change on geological, natural and cultural heritage”,  held May 6 – May 7, 2022 at  Demir Kapija, North Macedonia.

May 12, 2022, Turkey – Prof A.Mihajlov, as European Climate Pact Ambassador presented, by invitation, had presentation “Roadmap for Circular Economy“, underling that reduction of resource use also translates into reductions of GHG (greenhouse gasses) emissions and less pressure on natural ecosystems (i.e. relate with climate change). Training on Circular Economy within Technical Assistance for Assessment of Turkey’s Potential on Transition to Circular Economy, 11-13 May 2022, Antalya, Turkey.

June 2022. – Participating with awareness raising presentations related climate risks to World Environment Day campaign #OnlyOneEarth  (among others  at  activities with children with special needs through the Eco-schools program in Serbia, under the knowledge-based campaign “Safety water for all”; he activities are realized during the EU Green week, from May 30th to June 3rd, using this annual opportunity to pay attention of local and national decision and policy makers to support inclusive environmental education, by using knowledge based advocacy).

October 4th, 2022. Participate at  Climate Pact Ambassadors’ Forum under the motto ‘Connect! Capacitate! Engage!’ . The Forum focuses on the sharing of best practices and success stories from the Pact, as well as communication priorities and ways to foster greater climate action across Europe.

October, 2022. As European Climate Pact Ambassadors and Environmental Ambassador for Sustainable Development Prof Mihajlov participated at DEEP Circular Economy Workshop in Ankara, Türkiye. She presented: The Connection between the Green Agenda and the Circular Economy Strategy and ISO 59000 Standards (under development) foreseen role in the implementation of circular economy principles in organizations. November 2022 – Participated in the Climate Pact Ambassador Talk on “Sustainable agriculture and food systems” | 24 November 2022

November/ December 2022 – As Advisory Board member and European Climate Pact Ambassador participated at Terrifica project final Conference Embeding RRI for smart and climate resilient European regions. TeRRIFICA (Jan. 2019 – Dec. 2022) focused on how to influence climate change policies by fostering Responsible Research and Innovation in six European regions. The project explored future visions of a climatic landscape in 2030 and exploited the possibilities of action that were suggested through a crowd-mapping tool by various actors in the pilot cities and regions. These future visions integrate RRI into climate actions where science and society actively collaborate, and new forms of innovations are co-created in the open, transferable environment. TeRRIFICA Final Conference: Strong collaborations for the advancement of RRI 

January 2023 – Interviewed by Djoeke Siebesma, Ultrecht University, for her bachelor thesis Towards a greener Europe: The European Climate Pact and the Role of the Climate Pact Ambassadors (successfully completed in February 2023)
